The Re- Finishing Process

The beauty of a newly refinished piano is the final aspect of a complete restoration.

We take great efforts to use materials and techniques that greatly reduce the color fading in wood finishes caused by ultra-violet light. The use of traditional water dyes gives the wood a translucent beauty and is the most color fast stain available. Our high quality finishes are traditional close grain, built up lacquer finishes. They are painstakingly hand sanded for flatness and then hand rubbed to the final sheen. Finishes are available in natural wood tones or black ebony finish, either satin or High gloss.

All hardware is plated or polished and the original Steinway and Mason & Hamlin leather buttons are re-applied, as are the fallboard & soundboard decals.
