Built in Features:
Custom built Sitka spruce soundboard with rib crowned construction for enhanced crown support,
(Soundboard crown is essential to tonal production and longevity) extended bass cut-off bar and soundboard diaphragmization(thinning the board at various places to accentuate tonal variety). Additional treble tonal coupling via mass solid-wood bracing between rim and treble belly rail. Original Steinway Bell coupler retained
Bridges:
Highly aged tight grain hard rock maple caps, quarter sawn, German made bridge pins…hardened and Chrome plated.
Damper and pedal system:
New damper felts and guide rail bushings, New Renner back action, pedal lyre and all mechanisms are new and custom-fitted, with the damper back action
Note:
Re-design eliminates the usual annoying Steinway pedal thump. Individual capstan adjuster for each damper lever allows perfect pedal lift adjustment and rapid fire shut-off.
Action:
New set of Roseland keys , with new pre-ban Ivory & Ebony. Renner wippens, shanks, and flanges.
Ronsen Weickert felt hammers for a strong and singing tone. Action and keys are balanced via the Stanwood protocols with idealized key and action ratios.
Finish:
Done in deep oak tones, several coats, and hand-rubbed. All hinges have been plated. Plate (Harp) is painted with acrylic lacquer mixed with proprietary bronze powders, hand-lettered embossing in the vintage “outline” style. All string numbers and serial numbers are put back on the plate in original positions.
Completely prepped, regulated, tuned, and voiced for performance and recording.
Original unique 1893 Steinway Wood duet bench included with Steinway logo embossed in the seat.
