Creating a better action starts with several measurements. By gathering the proper data we can create an action that is smooth and easy to play. Using new parts from several different providers gives us the ability to customize each action so that it may reach its full potential. Given the large availability of parts we can correct action ratios and weight issues that have long plagued many pianos.
After gathering our initial measurements, the wippens and shanks will be removed leaving the bare metal action frame. The frame is cleaned and polished to create clean surfaces for the new action parts.
New action parts and felts are installed after careful selection for proper leverage. Hammers are selected and given a complete custom weight preparation. Again, this allows us to ensure the piano’s touch is neither too heavy or too light.
